Christine Cull's journey into equine osteopathy was sparked by a profound appreciation for learning, a deep love for horses, and a passion for teaching. It all began when she acquired a horse with an underlying metabolic condition. Determined to provide the best care possible, Christine delved into the world of equine therapy, starting with equine massage certification in 2018.
As she cared for her horse and witnessed the transformative power of therapy, Christine's thirst for knowledge grew exponentially. Each new certification—equine functional myomanipulative therapy in 2019, followed by equine kinesiology taping—fuelled her passion and commitment to helping horses.
Her journey took a pivotal turn in 2020 when she embarked on the study of animal osteopathy. Through rigorous learning and hands-on experience, Christine honed her skills, driven by a desire to understand the intricacies of equine anatomy and biomechanics.
Throughout her journey, Christine found immense joy in sharing her knowledge with others. Her love for teaching blossomed alongside her expertise in equine therapy. By 2023, armed with a Diploma of Clinical Competence as a Functional Equine Osteopath, Christine had become not only a skilled practitioner but also a dedicated educator.
Reflecting on her journey, Christine realized that her initial motivation—helping her own horse—had blossomed into a lifelong mission. She had discovered a profound sense of fulfillment in her ability to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance the overall well-being of horses. For Christine Cull, the journey was not just about what she had learned but about the endless possibilities of what she could continue to learn and how many more horses she could help, both through direct therapy and by passing on her knowledge to others.
What does the Quinte Equine Osteopathy team look like? Let’s hear it from the founder herself.
In my practice, I primarily work with individual clients as an independent practitioner, providing personalized equine osteopathy sessions tailored to each horse's unique needs. However, there are times when my workload is particularly heavy, and on such occasions, I may invite individuals who wish to shadow my work or assist with tasks to help manage the demands of the day.
Moreover, my role as a Teaching Associate with Animal Osteopathy International offers me the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of students and professionals from around the world. Through this position, I not only teach and mentor aspiring osteopaths but also engage in meaningful exchanges of knowledge and expertise with my colleagues. This collaborative environment allows me to continuously refine my skills, stay updated on the latest advancements in equine therapy, and contribute to the collective growth of the field.
Whether working one-on-one with clients or collaborating with a global network of professionals, my ultimate goal remains the same: to improve the well-being of horses and empower others to do the same. Through dedication, compassion, and collaboration, I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of both horses and those who care for them.
